Theresa Reneè Watson was  born and raised in Washington DC. She is the product of the DC public school system. Theresa began singing in the 5th grade where she played Dorthy in The Wiz. She later on continued singing and got into the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. While at Duke Ellington she sang with the New Washingtonians Big Band. There she was exposed to a master class with Dee Dee Bridgewater, toured in Croatia and opened up for Diane Schuur, last but not least opened up for Pattie La'Belle and performed with Earth, Wind and Fire. After graduating from Duke Ellington; Theresa completed one year at North Carolina Central University where she studied Jazz Studies under Lenora Helm Hammonds, Ed Palentino and Brandford Marsalis. She was also granted the opportunity to record with Nina Freelon, perform at the Lincoln Center in New York and also record Naima by John Coltrane at Sirius XM radio. Theresa studied at Howard for 3 years as a Jazz Studies Major. During her time at Howard she had the opportunity to participate as background singer to various artist; Yolanda Adams, Kierra Sheard and former Destiny Childs member Michele Williams; for the Obama Celebration which was filmed and aired on BET. She is still a current member of the Howard Gospel Choir and the Howard Rankin Memorial Chapel Choir. She is a proud member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for women and also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. Theresa Watson currently is a Jazz Studies Major at The University of the District of Columbia where she is the vocalist for the Calvin Jones Big Band. When Theresa graduates she plans to travel around the world sharing love through her music.
