DC Jazz Festival Events Cancelled Through April 17

DC Jazz Festival Events Cancelled Through April 17

As part of the global jazz community, we at the DC Jazz Festival (DCJF) have been closely monitoring the situation surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Our thoughts and prayers are with the communities most affected by COVID-19 especially our friends in Italy, China and South Korea.

As this global challenge unfolds, the safety of our students, teaching artists, staff, and embassy series participants is our highest priority. DCJF will follow social distancing guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and avoid close-proximity events for the next 30 days. Therefore, we will cancel all DC Jazz Festival education programs and embassy events through April 17.

DCJF will continue to proceed with caution, in accordance with guidelines laid out by the local and national authorities and will share decisions regarding our spring events as they become available.

Our hearts go out to all the members of our DCJF community who are financially impacted of event cancellations and postponements, including our musicians whose livelihoods are undoubtedly affected. We hope to reschedule as many of our events as possible.

Planning is still underway for our annual DC JazzFest presented by Events DC, scheduled to take place June 12-21, 2020, with preview events in June 6-10. While no decision has been made regarding the status of events beyond April, discussions are ongoing, and we will keep you posted regarding this very fluid situation in the coming weeks. Please be safe, healthy and responsible.
