Mark O'Reilly

Project Coordinator, DCJF Team

Mark O'Reilly has been an enthusiast of all things music ever since his first piano lesson in second grade, and he is honored to be a part of the DC Jazz Festival team. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Music and a minor in History from the Pennsylvania State University, he relocated to Washington, D.C. where he was an intern for the National Symphony Orchestra's education program. As a musician, he has always been happily busy, having performed in an array of orchestras, bands and choral groups as a bassoonist, trombonist, saxophonist and, most meaningfully to him while at Penn State, as a tenor voice in the African and African-American music ensemble Essence of Joy under the direction of D.C.'s own Dr. Anthony Leach. Mark is excited to offer all that he has learned from these experiences in service and humility for the DC Jazz Festival, and he is happy to be a part of the rich cultural offerings of this historic area.
